Sweetie is a 6 year old, Labrador- Staffordshire Terrier Mix. She was brought to the Humane Society with her brother, in July 2019 by her ailing owner. Her prior owner loved her dearly- he called the Humane Society almost daily to check up on her. Sadly he has since passed away, her brother was adopted and Sweetie remains at the shelter.
She is very smart, gentle on a leash, and knows her basic commands. She loves to play ball, is great with older kids, and has been introduced to other dogs without incident.
She bonds quickly and has a bit of separation anxiety. She still seems very confused about why she is at the humane society and can get anxious. She would do great with someone who can give her the time, love and understanding that she needs while she decompresses from the shelter. Sweetie would most likely do better with a male dog or non Alpha female, and a single person, couple or family with older kids. Transportation from Santa Maria will be provided. You can meet Sweetie if you live in the Central Coast of California.
Please inquire directly to the Humane Society of Santa Maria (805) 349-3435 or use our contact form online for more information on how to schedule a meet n greet.
