This is Simba!
Simba is about a 10 months old, male, healthy and a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, Chow Chow, Boxer, Greyhound, AKA mutt. He has had a pretty rough life so far and really needs a great fur-ever family.
He was originally rescued along with his brother and sister when they were only 4-5 weeks old. They had worms and fleas and who knows what else. They were nursed back to health and all 3 pups went to good homes – or so it thought. Simba’s 2 siblings when to amazing families, but Simba wasn’t so lucky. He was caged, not neutered, ate the cheapest dry food imaginable and didn’t even know his own name.
When that was discovered, he was taken back in by those who originally rescued him in what was supposed to be temporary until they found a great home. Their 7 pound Pomeranian and Simba do not get along because he plays a little rough since her really only played with his siblings who are his size.
Simba has just recovered from being neutered. He has a ton of energy and loves to play. He likes tug-of-war but never found any enjoyment in playing with balls. He does love rawhide and eating lean chicken breast and other human foods.
He’s not fully house trained and he isn’t really trained at all. His current foster family got him back about a month ago, he didn’t even know how to walk on a leash, but has made great strides in a short time. He’s a smart dog and has a great heart, but does get jealous when they show too much attention to the other dog.
He is good with dogs overall but he likes to rough house and play hard as he did with his brother and sister since he was a puppy. He now knows his name and is much more responsive to commands, but he is nowhere close to being trained.
We think the best place would be a home with no other dogs, although he does seem to enjoy the company of other large animals similar or himself. If you think that Simba would be a great fit for your family, please fill out an application at www.doggiebonez.com so that we can schedule a meet and greet. He is also on all of our social media pages IG: @Doggie_Bonez_Inc_ and Facebook: Doggie Bonez.
If adoption isn’t an option, please consider fostering one of our pups. We are a volunteer run non-profit dog rescue and always welcome new short and/or long term doggie foster families. We greatly appreciate the help and time of our fosters. You provide all the love, comfort and safety of a home and we supply you with everything else you may need, dog food, dog bed, toys, medical attention (if needed) etc. If you are interested please visit www.doggiebonez.com to see all of our available dogs who need a foster family while waiting for their fur-ever home and complete the foster application.
