Hello, I'm Painter,
He is a 2 year old, male, Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd Mix (He may have a tad Husky and Sharpei). He is healthy, neutered and vaccinated.
Painter is a true rescue dog, he was picked up off the streets of Los Angeles after 3 months of fending for himself. A rescue tried to catch him with no luck only to finally be picked up by animal control and brought to Downey shelter, where we rescued him.
He arrived thin, fearful and had pneumonia. Painter must have endured abuse by a male, so he does need time to build trust with men. He seems to warm up to woman quicker, but is still timid and fearful. Painter has come a long way and is more trusting than ever before. He will need a family that will understand his past, be patient and loving until Painter can open up and trust.
