Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Collette!
Here is an update from Collette’s foster Dad: I’ve had Collette for approximately 4 months. This is my 4th foster dog and she is top-notch choice due to her demeanor, size, and is obedient. She is an adult 6-7 year old “Pocket Pitbull” or “Mini Pit-bull” or small American Staffordshire Terrier weighing 45lbs with a shiny black coat and has really black watery eyes. Collette was found abandoned in the streets of LA; her past medical history includes cropped ears, an amputated front toe, a missing toe nail, and removal of breast tumor (poor pup)… but regardless, she is very healthy and is a great wingman on the streets. She is quite the fantastic pupper-doo: calm/chill, loves to snooze for hours, home-trained, potty-trained, understands easy commands, very cute and petite. I have left her in home for 5-8+ hours before without accidents. She sleeps for hours. She has not destroy any of my furniture, loves a short 40-60min walk/jog outside, highly enjoys playing tug-a-rope for 15-20 minutes (she really loves this activity, she can do dog somersaults, best exercise!). She doesn’t need too much exercise; I walk her at a minimum 2x/day, 40min-1hr each time. She doesn’t really play catch/fetch with balls (but I’ve only tried twice without success). I have longboarded with her frequently. Collette isn’t the quite the sled-dog due to size but she normally leads and help pull me forward while longboarding. She enjoys attention, great with little children hugging her, strangers petting her, or being in crowds; she’s never aggressive/growls toward humans. She hardly ever barks at all, even when she sees other dogs; she is curious when she see other dogs, wanting to meet them and sniff them. Collette is rated Fair with other dogs as she has demonstrated some slight dominant behavior. Ideally, Collette should be an only-dog household, unless you are an expert dog-trainer (which I am not). She has the potential to be with dogs (I’ve seen it) but must be leashed when other dogs are around because she may act too rough/tough. I never put my foster dogs in a kennel, Collette sleeps in the bedroom near me and has her own doggy bed. She is a great dog. Anybody looking for a loving, chill, obedient dog should consider this cute smiling pupper-doo.
Collette is a beautiful and sweet mini Staffordshire Terrier who is about 8 years old. She weighs about 45 lbs and is now a healthy, happy and social girl.
She was rescued from a shelter and upon her check up discovered she had breast cancer. After a double mastectomy and a month in a small kennel with a vet for treatment, she is now free!
She’s calm, quiet, submissive, and potty trained. She is a Hope For Paws Pet and we are happy to be helping her find a loving home.
